Jan Błoński (15 January 1931, Warsaw – 10 February 2009, Kraków) was a Polish historian literary critic, publicist and translator.
Professor of the Jagiellonian University, Błoński was habilitated for his work about Mikołaj Sęp Szarzyński and the beginnings of the Polish Baroque. He was a leading representative of the Kraków school of literary criticism. Regarded as one of the most influential critics of the war, He released the publication of all the books by Witold Gombrowicz in Poland. He was also a Fellow of Collegium Invisibile.[1]
In 1996-2001 he was a juror in Nike Literary Award. In November 1995 he was awarded the Kraków Book of the Month for All art by Slawomir Mrozek.
